Cleaning Protocols Training

Over 500 people have now undertaken the Landlord’s Little Helper Cleaning Protocols Training.

“I just wanted to write to say I found your Covid-19 cleaning course 5 stars and invaluable. When I first heard about it, I thought this would be useful but it surpassed my expectations. I found it clear, easy to understand and clarified some issues I had by just reading the information. I had started my risk assessment however this has made it easier to finish and ensure I cover everything for my property. It has given me more confidence and hopefully will also give my guests confidence when we can re-open. As the owner, cleaner, and everything person it can be very isolating especially through this minefield and you brightened my day yesterday. I have always taken the cleaning of my cottage very seriously as I believe it does not matter how good it looks if it is not clean or guests feel they have to wash things up before they use them you have already lost them. This should be mandatory before you are allowed to safely open. Thank you and look forward to any updates.”

Training

A step-by-step run through of the recently published cleaning protocols in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Free to ASSC Members, this is a no-nonsense, easy-to-follow course created for property owners, managers and their cleaners looking to ensure their properties operate safely when they open. These protocols have been developed in partnership between the Association of Scotland’s Self Caterers (ASSC), The Professional Association of Self Caterers (PASC) and the Wales Tourism Alliance. The protocols are supported by the Tourism Alliance, the Scottish Tourism Alliance and the Wales Association of Self-Catering Operators.

The training is delivered by Jenny Burton. Jenny was commissioned by the ASSC to help create a robust yet accessible and achievable set of cleaning guidelines for the self-catering sector. Jenny was asked to do the work due to her reputation in Edinburgh as the director of holiday let cleaning company, Landlords’ Little Helper. Her background, as a Physiology graduate enabled her to look behind the science, the myths and work to create the cleaning protocols which are now widely accepted as the benchmark that the self-catering industry needs to achieve to be able to ensure safety for staff and guests alike.

A short interview between Jen Burton, who delivers the training and Robert Kennedy from SuperControl, who has gone through the training and been certified.
