Self-Catering Industry Comes to Moray Speyside
Scotland’s trade body for the self-catering sector is to bring a major industry event to Moray Speyside.
The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) has announced that the latest in its regional events series will take place at the Strathisla Distillery in Keith on Monday 19 August.
Each regional event allows short-term rental operators to discuss the issues facing the sector with their peers in their local region and to meet the association and other stakeholders, including local politicians and the media.
Several local politicians have signalled their intention to attend the event, with more expected in the coming days.
Topping the bill will be a panel discussion and Q&A session featuring ASSC Chief Executive, Fiona Campbell, Strathisla Distillery Visitor Centre Manager, Jenna Collins, Laurie Piper of Moray Speyside Tourism, and Patrick O’Shaughnessy from VisitScotland.
The regional event is a partnership project between the ASSC and Moray Speyside Tourism.
ASSC Chief Executive, Fiona Campbell, said: “Following on from our brilliant meeting in the South of Scotland, the ASSC is delighted to bring our latest regional event to Moray Speyside.
“Self-catering in Scotland generates over £723million a year for our economy, a large part of which occurs in the Moray Speyside area and we believe it can grow further.
“The discussions had at this event will shape the direction of our vital industry and will therefore have a significant impact on Scottish tourism as a whole.”
