STA Unveils Manifesto for Future Scottish Government
The Scottish Tourism Alliance has unveiled its manifesto calling on a future Scottish government to commit to supporting growth and competitiveness of the Scottish tourism industry.
Details of the document ‘A Tourism Industry Manifesto for Growth & Competitiveness Towards 2020’ were announced to over 300 industry leaders at the STA’s AGM and Autumn Conference at Edinburgh’s EICC last Thursday, which the ASSC’s Chairman and Chief Executive attended.
The manifesto outlines how a future Scottish Government can support the tourism industry by driving growth, creating a sector better able to compete on the international stage through increased support for marketing, innovation and enterprise.
The document was produced over a two-month consultation period with the STA Board, a select working Sub-Group including the ASSC, and the STA Council and highlights key opportunities which will drive the growth of what Scottish Government has acknowledged as a hugely important sector.
The manifesto has been well-received and further discussions between the STA and political parties are due to take place over the coming weeks.
