Help Needed As Residents of Cupar Desperately In Need of Short-Term Accommodation

Residents of Cupar are still desperately trying to find short-term accommodation as a result of Storm Gerrit for 3-4 months+. They are struggling to secure anywhere to stay.

This may be because operators are anxious about Short-Term Let licence or planning applications that are still awaiting consideration and perhaps the implication of the new annual Non-Domestic Rates declaration of 70 day occupancy, or the impact on Furnished Holiday Let status.

Accommodating flooded families will not require entering into a PRT contract, nor would you need to become a registered landlord. Willie Rennie MSP and ASSC Chief Executive, Fiona Campbell have committed to finding exemptions for those that help, so please do not let that prevent you from helping these people that are in real need.

We are looking for accommodation for c 12 families – 2 to 4/5 people immediately. Can you help? Please let us know. Please pass this on to your colleagues that may be able to help.
