We are absolutely delighted to announce that our Chief Executive, Fiona Campbell, has been named Tourism Individual of the Year at the prestigious West of Scotland Scottish Thistle Awards!
This incredible achievement reflects Fiona’s dedication and passion for advancing Scotland’s self-catering sector, along with her commitment to supporting sustainable tourism throughout the country.
Under Fiona’s leadership, the ASSC has secured major wins for the self-catering industry. From challenging restrictive local council policies to lobbying for changes to short-term let regulations, she’s worked tirelessly to ensure that the voices of self-catering operators are heard at the highest levels of government. Her efforts have driven real, positive change for the sector.
On receiving the award, Fiona said:
“To be recognised by one’s peers is both humbling and heartening. I would like to extend my congratulations to all other award winners.
It has been another challenging year for all those involved in self-catering but I have been determined to fight our corner every step of the way as we are a ÂŁ1bn sector that does so much to sustain an important aspect of our economy.
I am privileged to be supported by a tireless and dedicated team at the ASSC, as well as a passionate and hardworking membership, who make this award less about an individual and more of a collective effort.
We look ahead to next year with a sense of resilience and optimism in the knowledge that the self-catering sector remains a tremendous asset to Scotland’s vital tourism industry.”
We couldn’t be prouder of Fiona and her well-deserved win! This award highlights not only her outstanding leadership but also the vital role self-catering plays in Scotland’s tourism landscape.
