The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) has today launched its first-ever Climate Action Plan, marking a major step in its commitment to a low-carbon, climate-resilient future for Scotland’s self-catering sector.
Developed in line with the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, the Plan sets out a practical, member-focused roadmap to help businesses embed sustainability at the heart of their operations – ensuring every action taken is Sustainable, Achievable, and Meaningful.
The ASSC represents over 1,600 members across Scotland, many of whom are already deeply connected to their communities and landscapes. The Plan highlights realistic ways for members to reduce their carbon footprint, protect nature, and collaborate across the sector, all while enhancing visitor experience and supporting local communities.
Fiona Campbell, Chief Executive of the ASSC, said:

This Climate Action Plan reflects our belief that sustainability must be accessible and actionable – no matter the size or location of a business. We are proud to support the Glasgow Declaration and play our part in shaping a more sustainable future for Scottish tourism.”
