From national recognition to valuable marketing opportunities, being shortlisted or winning can significantly raise a business’s profile and highlight the quality of Scotland’s self-catering sector.

Scottish Thistle Awards
The Scottish Thistle Awards, delivered by VisitScotland, are widely regarded as the highest accolade in Scotland’s tourism and events industry. Nominations are now open, with entries opening on 16 March 2026 and closing on 27 April 2026.
For over 30 years the awards have recognised excellence, innovation and success across the sector. Businesses that are shortlisted or win benefit from national recognition, strong marketing opportunities and the chance to be celebrated alongside some of Scotland’s leading tourism operators.
Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards
Nominations and entries are already open for the Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards, which celebrate the very best tourism businesses operating across the Highlands and Islands.
Being shortlisted provides valuable regional recognition and positions businesses as leaders within Scotland’s tourism industry. Importantly, winners automatically progress to the national finals of the Scottish Thistle Awards, offering the chance for nationwide recognition.

South of Scotland Thistle Awards
Nominations are also open for the South of Scotland Thistle Awards, with entries opening on 16 March 2026.
Since launching in 2023, the regional awards have highlighted the strength of tourism and hospitality in the South of Scotland, with businesses achieving notable success at the national finals. The awards celebrate the quality of the region’s visitor offering and provide an opportunity for businesses to showcase their achievements on both a regional and national stage.
