2026 Scottish Parliament Election Hustings – in Inverness

With the Scottish Parliament election fast approaching, this is a pivotal moment for our sector to engage directly with those shaping Scotland’s future.

We are pleased to invite ASSC members and other interested parties to attend a dedicated industry hustings, bringing together representatives from Scotland’s main political parties, to discuss the issues that matter most to those involved in Scottish tourism. Everyone welcome.

The hustings will take place on:

Tuesday 7th April from 6pm – 8pm (doors from 5.30pm)

at: The Waterside Suite, Glen Mhor Hotel, Ness Bank, Inverness, IV2 4SG.

The following candidates have confirmed their attendance:

  • Fergus Ewing, Independent candidate for Inverness & Nairn
  • Tim Eagle, Scottish Conservative candidate for Moray
  • Emma Roddick, Scottish National Party candidate for Inverness and Nairn
  • Cllr Michael Gregson, Scottish Labour
  • Fred Campbell, Reform UK Scotland candidate
  • Neil Alexander, Liberal Democrats candidate for Inverness and Nairn
  • Anne Thomas, Scottish Greens Highlands and Islands Regional List Candidate

This event forms a key part of our ongoing engagement work to ensure the voice of the self-catering sector is heard, strengthening relationships with policymakers and influencing the next Scottish Government’s approach to tourism, regulation and rural economies.

The party representatives will each deliver a short opening statement, followed by a moderated Q&A session by ASSC Chief Executive Fiona Campbell MBE – and this is your opportunity to put questions directly to candidates and hear their priorities for the next parliamentary term.

To submit a question ahead of time, please go to Vevox.app and use session ID 121-178-245. From here you can click on the speech bubble icon and submit as many questions as you wish. Please note, this will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, 5th April.
