We welcomed self-catering operators, members, partners, and industry experts for a session packed with networking and knowledge-sharing as we unite not only to celebrate “Earth Day” but also 45 Years of the ASSC!
The afternoon kicked off with ample networking opportunities, bringing together fellow operators, tourism professionals, and the dedicated team at ASSC. It was a prime chance to connect with our dynamic Partners, offering a diverse range of offerings. From sustainable products to indispensable services like insurance, banking, and booking agents, there was something for everyone to explore.
We were delighted to present a fantastic line-up of speakers for the event, including Tiomóid Foley, VisitScotland Net Zero Manager, and Scott MacLean, Managing Director of Green Tourism. Additionally, ASSC CEO, Fiona Campbell, who provided updates on pertinent topics such as Short-Term Let Licensing and Planning, FHL Abolition, and the Visitor Levy.
Furthermore, we hosted a panel discussion titled “Leading Change: Empowering the Self-Catering Sector for Responsible Tourism and Climate Action,” featuring Clare Winskill, Owner of Coruisk House and ASSC Chair, Gordon Drummond of Cairngorm Lodges, David Lewington for Shire Energy Services and Tiomóid Foley of VisitScotland.
The gathering wasn’t just about convening; it was about bringing together Scotland’s Self-Catering community to honour and celebrate Earth Day and embrace our mission of Responsible Tourism.
