Marketing Membership (ASSC) – and how to get involved

What is Marketing Membership?

As a member of the Association of Scotland’s Self-Catering Association (ASSC), you can choose to upgrade to Marketing Membership at any point during your membership.

Marketing Membership is ASSC’s dedicated marketing support programme for members who want to actively grow their visibility, strengthen direct bookings and be part of Scotland’s only collective marketing community for self-catering.

It brings together:

• practical marketing support (workshops, monthly drop-in sessions and shared insight)
• collective promotion through social media, campaigns and newsletters
• website visibility via EmbraceScotland
• and a connected community of operators learning and growing together

In simple terms:

• Marketing Membership is how you access ASSC’s marketing support and collective promotion.
• EmbraceScotland is the consumer-facing platform where much of that promotion happens.

What is EmbraceScotland?

EmbraceScotland is ASSC’s consumer-facing marketing brand and website, created to showcase self-catering across Scotland and help Marketing Members reach guests directly.

The EmbraceScotland website was created to support operators directly. It does not replace agencies or online tour operators (OTAs) – instead, it works alongside the channels you already use, strengthening your own direct marketing while adding the power of collective promotion.

Through Marketing Membership, members can list their property on EmbraceScotland, take part in campaigns, feature in newsletters and benefit from themed Inspiration pages.

At its heart, EmbraceScotland is about community-powered marketing – ASSC members working together to achieve more than any one business could alone.

Why get involved?

Marketing Membership is built on strength in numbers and on shared support.

Alongside collective promotion, members benefit from practical marketing support and a welcoming peer community. Through workshops, monthly drop-ins and member networks, you’re supported by both the ASSC team and fellow operators who understand the realities of running a self-catering business.

• individual businesses benefit from wider visibility

We also work closely with VisitScotland, with direct links from VisitScotland.com to EmbraceScotland content and campaigns, helping extend reach and connect Marketing Members with visitors ready to book.

What it Costs

You don’t need to be confident in marketing to join – just open to learning and being part of the community.

Marketing Membership is an optional add-on to Standard Membership.

• £75 + VAT per year

Includes:

• Practical marketing support (workshops, monthly drop-in sessions and shared insight)
• collective promotion through social media, campaigns and newsletters
• one EmbraceScotland property listing,

Optional extras:

• additional property listings: £26 + VAT per page
• Inspiration page features: £15 + VAT per theme

This allows you to tailor Marketing Membership to suit your business and visibility goals.
