The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) is delighted to celebrate the success of its members at the 2025 Aberdeen City & Shire Thistle Awards, an event that recognises and rewards the very best of tourism and hospitality across the region.
This year, two ASSC members were honoured for their outstanding contribution to Scottish tourism:
Logie Newton Farm, Lodges & Events was recognised with the Best Self-Catering or Unique Stay award.
Judges loved the property’s clear USP, meticulous attention to detail, and glowing guest reviews – all delivered with innovation and sustainability at heart. A true gem of the North East, Logie Newton Farm has built a reputation for warm hospitality and memorable experiences in an outstanding rural setting.
Clare Bruce, Co-Chief Executive of the Glen Tanar Estate, was named Individual of the Year.
Judges praised her humility, clarity of purpose, and steadfast commitment to the North East, recognising Clare as a true role model for Scotland’s tourism industry.
Through her leadership, Glen Tanar has continued to flourish as a destination that combines natural beauty with high-quality visitor experiences, while promoting sustainability and responsible tourism.
The Thistle Awards highlight the dedication, creativity, and innovation that drive Scotland’s world-class visitor economy. The success of Logie Newton Farm and Clare Bruce reflects the strength and resilience of the self-catering sector, and the vital role it plays in shaping memorable visitor experiences.
