We have been informed by the Scottish Government today (17th July) that regulations will be laid before the Scottish Parliament shortly to extend the deadline for lodging proposals from 31 July 2023 to 31 August 2023, or four months from the date on which the valuation notice was issued, whichever is later.
This extension to 31 August 2023 will apply for the 2023 revaluation only and responds to a recommendation of the New Deal for Business Non-Domestic Rates sub-group which can be found in the progress report of the New Deal for Business published on 29 June 2023.
Any ratepayers intending to lodge revaluation proposals / appeals are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.
