A Freedom of Information Request was submitted to the Highland Council and City of Edinburgh Council on 5th January regarding the designation of existing Short-Term Let Planning Control Areas:
- All quantitative data, analysis, reports or impact assessments held by the Council which demonstrate any evidenced material benefit arising from the Planning Control Area designation in respect of:
- Overall housing availability
- Affordable housing supply
- Average property sale prices
- Average private rental prices
- The total number of empty homes and long-term empty homes within the designated Planning Control Area: a) In the most recent complete reporting period prior to designation coming into force. b) In each complete reporting period following designation, up to the most current available data.
- The total number of second homes within the designated Planning Control Area: a) In the most recent complete reporting period prior to designation coming into force. b) In each complete reporting period following designation, up to the most current available data.
- Copies of any internal or external evaluations, reviews or monitoring reports assessing the effectiveness of the Planning Control Area in achieving housing outcomes, including any commentary on causation or correlation between designation and observed housing changes.
