Scotland’s Agritourism Sector Census 2025 – Agritourism Counts

Scotland’s Agritourism Sector Census 2025 is a crucial piece of research at the halfway point of Scotland’s National Agritourism Strategy which will help to ensure that the sector is on track to meet national targets for agritourism.

All agritourism and farm retail businesses in Scotland can contribute to demonstrating that ‘Agritourism Counts’ as a key driver in Scotland’s rural economy – in sector value, for rural employment, supporting family farms, linking consumers with farms and farm produce and for many more reasons. The results will influence future policy and sector support for agritourism and farm retail, and the continuation of the National Agritourism Strategy work.

Participants are asked to complete 10 questions, which should take around 10 minutes, and it is completely anonymous.

Make sure your agritourism or farm retail business is counted by following the link.

To prepare in advance, it is useful to have to hand:

  • Access to your nearest filed tax accounts to end of March 2025 for both the farm and
    agritourism/farm retail business/es
  • A note of capital investment since opening and an idea of investment in the next year
