Web Booking Engine (WBE) is the term used to describe an integrated online system that keeps track of and manages property information, availability, prices and booking. In June 2013 VisitScotland made them essential for any business wishing to offer online availability and take bookings on their website, Visitscotland.com.
The following WBE systems provide a direct online booking engine for independent self-catering providers, which work in an integrated way with the VisitScotland website to provide online availability searches and bookings:
| ASSC | The ASSC WBE offers an exclusive low-cost option to Members to take bookings via EmbraceScotland and VisitScotland.com. |
| SuperControl | All SuperControl clients can have seamless integration with EmbraceScotland and Visitscotland.com, as well as other popular marketing websites. |
| Freetobook | Freetobook is the only other provider to offer services which we believe work well for self caterers. |
| Eviivo | The Eviivo system is also available to self caterers, but is the one that is least tailored to our needs. |
