The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) proudly announces the appointment of Clare Winskill as its new Chair. Clare’s selection comes following the recent AGM held virtually on 9th January 2024.
Clare Winskill brings a wealth of expertise to her new role, stemming from her ownership of Coruisk House Michelin Guide Restaurant and Hotel on Skye, as well as the recently opened self-catering cottage, An Nead – “The Nest”. With over 12 years of residency in Scotland alongside her partner, Clare has fostered a deep-seated passion for Scottish tourism and is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Beyond her entrepreneurial endeavours, Clare serves as a Director at the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA), advocating for regenerative tourism practices that benefit both the economy and local communities. Clare brings invaluable experience, including insights into the challenges facing rural communities. She is passionate about sustainable and inclusive policies, practices, and partnerships.
Recently, Clare assumed the role of Co-Chair at the Institute of Directors Highlands and Islands Branch, further demonstrating her dedication to professional excellence and leadership development. Additionally, she is actively pursuing certification as a Chartered Director to advance her skills and expertise in governance and leadership.
Clare Winskill assumes her role as Chair of the ASSC with immediate effect, poised to lead the organisation toward a future of ingenuity and resilience in Scotland’s tourism sector.
