Non-Domestic Rates: Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute Begin Issuing Information Requests

We are aware that Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute Assessors have begun issuing requests for information in relation to Non-Domestic Rates for self-catering accommodation, reportedly from on or around 3rd February.

If you operate in these areas, please check that you have received any correspondence. If you have received a request, you must ensure that your evidence is submitted within 56 days of the date stated on your letter.

To remain eligible for Non-Domestic Rates, your property must be available for commercial letting for at least 140 nights in the financial year and actually let for at least 70 nights. Evidence of this will be required.

Failure to respond within the statutory deadline could result in removal from the Valuation Roll and transfer to the Council Tax List, making the property liable for Council Tax.

Members can find full guidance on evidence requirements and how to respond via the guidance page linked below.
