The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) has received a formal response from the Scottish Parliament’s Economy and Fair Work Committee following correspondence from Fiona Campbell MBE, Chief Executive of the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers, raising serious concerns about the methodology underpinning the 2026 Non-Domestic Rates revaluation for self-catering businesses.
In the letter, the Committee acknowledges the analysis provided and the level of concern among ASSC members. While it notes that parliamentary time constraints ahead of the election mean an evidence session cannot be scheduled at this stage, the Committee confirms it will continue to monitor the issue and highlights that scrutiny of the revaluation methodology is a matter that incoming MSPs may wish to examine following the Scottish Parliament elections in May.
The full letter from Daniel Johnson MSP, Convener of the Economy and Fair Work Committee, is available to read here.
The ASSC continues to advocate on your behalf, working closely with Assessors, the Scottish Government, industry stakeholders, Ministers and cross-party MSPs.
