East Lothian Council is inviting businesses, residents, and communities to share their views on a potential Visitor Levy, a small charge on overnight stays that would fund local tourism services and infrastructure.
Consultants Stantec and 56 Degrees Insight are leading engagement and economic modelling to explore how a levy could be designed to support sustainable tourism while benefiting communities.
Recent surveys show strong visitor support, while business feedback has been mixed, highlighting the importance of ongoing consultation.
